Howdy Fa'll!

As I sit here, posting, the cool weather is blowing in! Which means...boot weather!! I'm so ready to put away the flip flops and start wearing my cowboy boots! It may look as if I may have a problem concerning boots. But, as you will see below, not really. Like any good, honest, junker, I love to tell everyone what a great deal I got on something. Therefore, you must endure this obnoxious behavior if you choose to scroll down through this post.

Sittin round the fire pit.

Owl-O-Ween

For the second year, I am obsessed with owls for Halloween! I don't know if it is because my daughter became a Chi-O last year or nostalgia from my teen years in the 1970's! Whatever the reason, I love them and used them again in my house for Halloween.

This is the entry to my house:

These look like giant owls to me in their nests.

(My daughter thinks this is creepy.)

My dress form in her witching attire.

Dining Room Centerpiece.

A witch I made several years ago protects the guest bedroom.

(I have a tub full of witches I haven't finished...will that ever happen??)

Unfortunately, I will probably not be getting to any Halloween paintings. So, I will stop stressing and just enjoy the season!

Trick or Treat

With October almost here, I'm trying to decide if I will do any "Halloween" paintings. I usually do a few, just for fun. I did this painting two years ago for a Cloverleaf display. Now, I use it at home in my entry where I do seasonal displays. (Of course, everything is for sale! haha)

Home Again, Home Again

What a wonderful adventure I had at The Creative Connection! I met so many talented women and saw so many beautiful creations. I also was able to attend several of the panel events and learned so much! Below is a mini-pictorial of my trip:

Driving through Iowa.
Sweet family.

Cute entry into the Market.

Finishing touches on my table display.

WOW! Looks messy in this photo!

Closer look.

WHITE SQUIRREL SIGHTING!!
Didn't know if this was good luck or bad luck!

Cherry and I happened into this shop, only to find
out it has been featured in many major magazines!
Great place!

Cherry and I really liked our shoes!

Me, pretending Ree Drummond (The Pioneer Woman) and I are the best of friends!

The actual photo shot. She has NO IDEA who I am! haha

My Vendor Friends!

And, finally, on the way home on Sunday, we stopped at The Curious Sofa in Kansas City.

Beautiful and clever as always!

And, now, as I sit here Monday at 2:00 pm, still in my pj's, I'm going to go take a nap for the next three days!

Thank you to all the people who came through the The Handmade Market for your kind compliments of my artwork! I will never forget this experience.

Night, night.

And Away We Go!

Packing the car and taking off EARLY tomorrow morning for Minneapolis! Can't really believe it! It's a 12 hour drive, so we will get to our hotel, crash and be up bright and early Wednesday morning to set up my table.

The first event is an early Preview Party for the Handmade Market on Wednesday evening. Then the market will be open daily on Thurs, Fri and Sat. In between, there will be breakfasts, luncheons and dinners with keynote speakers. Hopefully, I will get to slip in for a couple of them! If you haven't checked out the Creative Connection website, DO! It is going to be an amazing event!

Below are samples of my original pieces I'm taking. I apologize...I worked and worked on setting up a slide show and got NOWHERE! So, this is what I came up with. Hopefully, I will be posting all 32 pieces on facebook, so check them out there.

BACK IN A WEEK!!

Countdown!

I can't believe The Creative Connection Event is only a week away! Everyday I will be working on one thing or another getting ready to leave next Tuesday for the 12 hour road trip. Today I put together my linens for the table covering. I will only have one table at The Handmade Market and want to try and make it stand out.

I've managed to collect these beautiful vintage pieces in creams and off-greens during the last couple of months. This is the order I plan on layering them on the table.

Then, today, I found these unbelievable vintage drapes that tie in the deep pink rose colors in my paintings!

The drapes will most likely be going up in my house after the show!

They are really gorgeous!
