Birds on a Pedestal

As promised, following are pictures of my artwork that I took to The Glitter Market. These first pieces are a continuation of some gussied-up birds I did a couple of years ago. These ladies are already "framed" for their portrait!
Because of my pitiful blogging skills, and the problems I am having with my blog, I am going to post each series separately. Stay tuned....

Post Glitter Market

What a fun day we had Saturday at Paper Crown's Glitter Market! Thank you, Cindy, for putting this on! These first pictures are of mine and Brenda Little's table:

Brenda's Swan and my butterfly specimen

Looking down into some of Brenda's Terrariums

Next are pictures of some of the other vendors: Susan and Jill's delicious baked goods!

They saved the day for me...I was hosting my Book Club at my house on Sunday and bought their praline cookies, homemade Kit Kat Bars, and darling daisy sugar cookies to serve. They were all a HUGE hit!

Jemellia's cute aprons!
Donna Layton's packages of vintage wallpaper. LOVE!

Amy Baldwin's amazing mosaic artwork.

Medeah Kitsmiller's mixed media creations.

And, finally, Jackie Peter's beautiful art!

I will be posting more photos of my artwork in a couple of days!

Spring Glitter Market

I am going to be at Paper Crown's Glitter Market this coming Saturday! I will be bringing a "sampling" of things I've been working on. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot. But, I will be sharing a table with my friend, Brenda Little, who will dazzle us all with her many creations! I can't wait to see what she has been up to!

Check out Paper Crown's blog this week, she will be posting about the other vendors that will be at the Market.
Hope to see you there!

The Old Mill

Several weeks ago, I went back to my home state, Arkansas, to visit my sisters and friends. Every time I go back, I have to go to The Old Mill! It is in North Little Rock, AR, in the middle of my former neighborhood, Lakewood. It is so beautiful!

Believe it or not, when I was a little girl, my friends and I would walk to The Old Mill and set up house. We would play for hours pretending it was our little castle and kingdom! haha At that time, is was a bit dilapidated, but still very magical. Now, the Parks Department has taken it over and keeps it clean and planted with beautiful flowers. It seems to be a popular place for weddings and prom pictures, as I witnessed while there.

The Old Mill's claim to fame is it is featured in the first scene of Gone With The Wind!

Find out more history: The Old Mill

If you're ever in North Little Rock, be sure to check it out!
I promise you will be creatively inspired!

Under Construction

As you can see, I am re-designing my blog, with the help of my friend. Still have some kinks to work out. Plus, I'm going out-of-town. So, please be patient with me! It really is going to get better!

Thanks!

Texas Town

Last weekend I hopped aboard the train and went to Ft. Worth for Mom's Weekend with my daughter, Emma.

Here we are at the Friday Night dinner.

After a fun-filled weekend of shopping and eating out, I spent the next couple of days with my friend, Cherry. Of course, when I go to Cherry's house, there is always a project (or three). This time, she was dissatisfied with a pair of lamps in her Living Room. All it took was for me to mention they may need a color boost, and off we went to buy hot pink spray paint and new lampshades!

They turned out really cute!
Then, she got out her vintage floral paintings and we headed for her stairwell. She has been bugging me to help her hang these for, oh I'd say 7 years! We finally did it! Took approximately 20 minutes!

Unfortunately, the next day I was advised our professional (un) hanging job was insufficient. Three had already fallen off the wall and several others were teetering. Oh well, I guess she'll have to wait til I come back to re-hang these...I hope it's not another 7 years! At least the nails are already in the wall.

Just In Time

It has been a really stressful, busy week! I've been working on a rush art project and losing a day to the additional snow storm didn't help! But...in between waiting for paint to dry, I was able to finally finish up a couple of things for Valentine's Day. I took the following pieces to Cloverleaf Boutique this week...just in time for V.Day! haha Oh well, I guess late is better than never!

Have a Happy Valentines Day!

Conversation Hearts

Love You Always 24" x 36" and Steal My Heart 24" x 36"

These two paintings are from a couple of years ago from my Conversation Hearts series. This series was inspired by my LOVE of conversation heart candy! I have been known to finish off a whole bag of hearts in my car before I get home from the store. haha Unfortunately, I don't eat them anymore, but my nostalgia for them is still great.

Very Valentine

These pictures are from Cloverleaf. Last week I helped out with taking down the Christmas display and putting up this small Valentine display. I found these beautiful swans in the shop (one new and one old) and filled them with vintage chocolate boxes. I think they look really pretty.

Cloverleaf has gotten in lots of great jewelry and more is on the way!
Also, the sale is still going on, so don't miss it!
Still working on my artwork!

I'm Back...I Think

The Holidays are over and I'm finally back in town.
After Christmas, we went to Laguna Beach, CA, for our friend's
birthday and The Rose Bowl.
The weather was a bit inconsistent,

cold and rainy one day...

bright and beautiful the next.

Yes, that really is me (with my husband)!

To those who know me well, please stop laughing! I managed very well supporting my daughter's Horned Frogs! The worst part was swimming through the sea of Red (Wisconsin) in my little purple sweater. But, I cheered away in the student section of young drunkards to TCU's victory!

Unfortunately, I came home with a nasty cold and cough. I am still going to get to my studio this week and start on some artwork for Valentines Day. Hopefully, inspiration will hit me sooner than later. When I have something done, I will share it.

Have a good week!
